History
Portland Judo Club was first established in October
97 by Jeff Elliott (1st Dan) at the Portland Leisure
Centre in the Meadows area of Nottingham. In
December 97 the club moved to the Queens Walk
Community Centre in the Meadows. In January 2002,
the club moved to premises off Carlton Road in the
town centre of Nottingham, before moving to the
Kashmir Centre in 2007. The club is a member of
the British Judo Association.
The club caters for seniors (men and women over 16), and juniors (boys and girls under 16). It holds
sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays. The coaches can grade juniors up to
their top yellow belt (6th Mon) and seniors up to
their yellow belt (9th Kyu). Beginners are welcome
as well as current players.
